Bexley Football Kicks Off Summer with Youth Camp

The Bexley High School football program kicked off the summer by hosting its annual Youth Football Camp on June 1-3 for boys entering 3rd through 6th grade.

Over the course of three mornings, campers learned the fundamentals of football while being coached by the Bexley High School coaching staff and assisted by members of the varsity football team. From throwing and catching to footwork, agility, and defensive drills, the focus was on helping every player improve while having fun.

One of the best parts of the camp was seeing the interaction between the high school players and the younger athletes. The varsity players didn’t just demonstrate drills. They coached, encouraged, and spent time getting to know the kids. Whether it was celebrating a great catch, helping with technique, or simply laughing together between stations, they set a great example of what it means to be part of the Bexley football family.

For many of the campers, it was their first opportunity to work alongside the players they watch on Friday nights. Those relationships help build excitement for football and create a connection between every level of the program.

The camp also gave young athletes a chance to meet new friends, stay active, and build confidence in a positive, encouraging environment. It was great to see players of all experience levels working hard, supporting one another, and improving throughout the week.

A big thank you goes out to the Bexley High School coaches and varsity players for investing their time in the next generation of Lions. Their willingness to teach and mentor these young athletes is an important part of what makes the Bexley football program special.

Thank you as well to all of the families who participated and helped make this year’s camp another great success. We look forward to seeing these young Lions back on the field this fall.
